Fall Pledge Drive Starts Soon
2006 "Living Our Faith" Pledge Campaign

Dear
Fellow Members of Northaven,
On Sunday,
October 16, Northaven members and friends will have the opportunity to make
commitments to fund the church’s 2006 annual budget. These pledges will
support our first full year in our long-anticipated new
home.
In the coming days, we will review
our accomplishments during this extraordinary transitional year and outline
plans for 2006. We will also challenge you to consider your role in helping to
realize our vision of a vibrant congregational life in our new
building.
The Finance Committee is now
finalizing a proposed budget that reflects the requests of the Program Council,
the church staff and the recommendations of the Staff Parish Committee. Based
upon our long-term financial plan, we anticipate that the pledge goal will be
about $505,000, a 9.8 percent increase over the 2005 pledges totaling $460,000.
If we reach that goal, it will be the third consecutive year that we have met or
exceeded the objectives of our long-term financial plan adopted in 2003. That
plan was developed to make sure that we are able to pay for the new building
while maintaining and increasing our mission and ministry.
Meeting this goal requires a combination
of renewed pledges, increased pledges, and at least 16 new pledges – for a
total of 166 units.
What role do you
play? If you pledged last year, we extend our gratitude, and we ask you to
prayerfully consider your commitment for the coming year. If you have not
pledged before, we hope you will feel called to make this act of stewardship a
part of your faith life.
Every pledge is
critical to the future of our community as a whole. Being able to anticipate our
financial well-being allows the leadership of the church to better plan our
future mission and ministry activities.
If you have any questions, please feel
free to contact one of us. Also, be looking for more information about 2005
activities and our hopes for
2006.
Sincerely,
Bob
