Did you know?
Interesting factoids about Northaven's
website
We've been looking at some of the statistics for
Northaven's website, and we thought you might be interested to see how the
greater community uses the Northaven
website.As you know, Northaven Church
publishes audio archives of each week's sermon at the website (you can find the
archive here). Through the end of September, sermons
have been streamed or downloaded a total of 2,128 times this year. (an average
of 212 per month). Interestingly, there seems to have been a dramatic increase
in the sermon downloads, beginning in April of this
year.
Many
of you have read Northaven's book "Finishing the
Journey." A book commissioned prior to the United Methodist General
Conference of 2000. (you can read the book online here) Clearly, this book continues to be
inspiring and helpful to the community, as the greater Church continues to
struggle with the issue of homosexuality in the
church.In fact, during this year,
chapters from the book are downloaded an average of 314 times a month!! (3140
times for the year, through the end of September...) This is absolutely
remarkable, considering the book is more than five years old, and that the
General Conference is not meeting now. It speaks to the power and importance of
this
publication.
The
website in general has had an average of 820 unique visitors per month this
year. Visits to the website DO seem to be increasing throughout the year...with
total visits in January totalling 880, and visits in September topping out at
1206.
Obviously,
Northaven's website is just another of the ways that our church reaches out to
the community at large!
