Some interesting stats on the past six months

It's been six months since we moved into our new building. We thought you might be interested to learn how church attendance has been trending during that time.

Here are some interesting facts:

* Counting all recent Easter Sundays, church attendance is up approximately 90 worshippers a week, since the date we moved in to the new building.
* Excluding all recent Easter Sunday, church attendance is still up approximately 50 worshippers a week, since the date we moved into the new building.
* April was the largest average month for attendance in at least 30 years.
* Easter's total of 430 worshippers was the largest single worship event at Northaven in over 40 years.

In the graph below, this year's statistics are "goldenrod." You can also note the steep rise in attendance as of November and December of last year (yellow). What is even more astonishing is that the recent Christmas and New Year's days each fell on Sundays. That means the attendance total for one Sunday of December '05 and January '06, was significantly lower than it might have been in an "average" year during those same holiday weekends.

As for understanding the date for other months, Easter occurred in April of '03 and '04, and in March of '05. This accounts for the large monthly totals in those years. But, as you can see, even March '06 exceeded almost every other Easter month in recent memory.

In the second chart below, the same attendance data is presented, however all Easter Sundays for the past four years are excluded. And as you can see, each of the past six months have been greater than all but one month in the past four years:
