Richard Deats at Northaven: Remembering Hiroshima, Considering

Richard recently returned from Iran where he was
part of an Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR) peace delegation and will be
speaking about his experiences and observations of the trip. He will also be
teaching the Cornerstone Class on Sunday morning during the Adult Sunday School

those of you who would like the opportunity to speak to Richard Deats further to
join them for lunch at their house for pizza and salad after church service. If
you can, let them know if you plan to eat with them so they can order enough

Richard Deats, Ph,D., served as executive director and editor of Fellowship
magazine at the FOR where he worked from 1972 to mid-2005. A native of Big
Spring, Texas, he taught social ethics in the Philippines and at Union
Theological Seminary from 1959 to 1972. Long active in civil rights and peace,
he has lectured and led workshops on nonviolence in many countries. He is
author of a number of books, including biographies of Martin Luther King, Jr.
and Mahatma Gandhi.
