May 13th in Worship

Youth Sunday is one of the handful of ways that Northaven Church lives out its commitment to intergenerational worship. This Mother's Day, our youth will continue the tradition of a participating in the United Methodist charge to be active leaders in church life by leading our congregation in worship.


As part of the education ministry of our church, this service will be an opportunity for spiritual growth, intellectual maturation, and social consciousness raising. Our youth will teach how tradition and progressiveness are not mutually exclusive. We will sing songs from both The United Methodist Hymnal and The Faith We Sing. Our youth music ensemble will join our Adult Choir to lead us in congregational song. Our litanies will be from The United Methodist Book of Worship and The Book of Uncommon Prayer, a popular youth worship resource that was inspired by the more familiar Book of Common Prayer. This will be a worship experience that will help us to exemplify what it means to be the Body of Christ and the people of God.
