Why We Fight
(99 minutes)- Grand Jury Prize winner at the
2005 Sundance Film Festival, Why We Fight
offers an unflinching look at the anatomy of U.
S. war-making. Inspired by President Dwight Eisenhower’s 1961 farewell
address in which he warned Americans about the dangers of the “military
industrial complex,” director Eugene Jarecki weaves stories of U. S.
citizens touched by war with commentary from Washington insiders to paint a
portrait of a nation drifting dangerously far from our founding principles
toward a more imperial and uncertain future.
