Come to the Feast Fest!
September 14-16
Mark your calendar in big red letters for September 14 to 16. Northaven UMC will host a weekend-long arts festival featuring Freddie Jones, Dallas’s preeminent horn player, and his jazz ensemble; a Book Fair benefiting the Northaven library; coffee house music played by such musical stars as Eric Folkerth, Jack Kennedy, and Rick O’Connor; a silent art auction; a painting workshop for adults and children to create a dynamic visual display; a performance of playwright Vicki Cheatwood’s “Jonah and God” starring some of Dallas’s most celebrated actors. But wait—there’s more!!!

Friday, September 14, 6:30 to 9 p.m.
Acoustic coffeehouse" featuring Northaven's Jack Kennedy and Eric Folkerth in Northaven's sanctuary. Enjoy great acoustic music, coffees and desserts, as you sit around round tables and candles in the classic "coffeehouse" tradition.
Silent Art Auction on the upstairs gallery overlooking the atrium.
Book Fair with hard- and- soft-cover books, DVDs, and CDs donated by Northaven members and sold at moderate prices on the second floor outside the library.

Saturday, September 15, 12 noon to 5 p.m.
Performances by some of Northaven’s many talented musicians in the atrium.
Silent art auction continues.
Book Fair continues.
Food and drink available in the atrium.
1 to 4 p.m.
An art workshop directed by Northaven artist Joan Hogge inspiring families, adults, youth, and children to paint canvases and a mural to hang in the upstairs gallery.
6:30 to 8 p.m.
The one and only Freddie Jones Jazz Ensemble creating their unique brand of music in the sanctuary.
Food and drink available in the atrium.

Sunday, September 16, 11 a.m.
Feast of Beginnings service
Silent art auction continues.
Bookfest continues.
5:30 to 7 p.m.
Feast of Beginnings dinner
7:15 p.m.
Silent art auction closes
Book Fair closes
7:30 to 8:30

Final announcements and dismissal

Many creative Northavenites have already signed on to help make this exciting and ambitious weekend successful, but more help will be needed. Listen and watch for announcements and volunteer signup sheets in the next few weeks.

For now, please start perusing your book shelves for printed material, DVDs, and CDs that you can donate to the Book Fair. We’ll begin accepting your donations starting August 12, the week after Vacation Bible School ends.
