Financial Report Update
An update on the Budget for
2008
Thanks to the generous response of Northaven
members and friends, the Leadership Council was able to adopt a balanced budget
for 2008 at its meeting on February 26. The 2008 budget is set at $786,600 in
income and $785,835 in expenses.
In
recent weeks, the church received additional gifts and pledges totaling $45,566.
These, together with the Black Tie grant of $46,694 awarded in 2007 for 2008,
and coupled with savings and reductions in several areas, have enabled us to
adopt a budget that provides for our necessities while continuing to grow vital
programs. Black Tie funds, in particular, will enable Northaven to be a
significant presence at the General Conference in April and to develop the study
guide to accompany the film “For the Bible Tells Me
So.”
These developments call
attention to the importance of thoughtful stewardship of our resources
throughout the year, and also to the importance of special funding events that
support Northaven. If you are interested in serving on the Stewardship
commission, please contact the Chair, Bob Dawson. If special events is your
special talent, please contact me – we need your skills!
