This holiday season, give your family and friends the a gift with real meaning

Once again this year, the Church in Society Commission encourages Northaveners to give to their friends and loved ones through Northaven's "Alternative Giving" project.

How it works:
-- Make your giving list. Remember to list work colleagues, family and friends.
-- Pick the agency that fits the person on your Christmas list or that you wish to support.
-- Decide on the amount that you would have spent on a gift from the store, then complete the form next Sunday remembering each person on your list.
-- Select one of the two original card designs created by Joan Hogge just for this project. Add $1 per card to cover printing.

Why participate?
We want to encourage gift giving that reflects the priorities of Jesus Christ, thus the true meaning of Christmas.
We want to remember our friends and family with an appropriate gift.
We want to reduce the stress that comes with the frantic build-up to the holiday.
We want to reduce material waste and redirect the resources that go with gift-giving--shopping, purchasing, wrapping, delivering, etc.
We want to give a gift that goes toward a cause or charity that is making a difference in the community and world.
