Music and the Arts
Information on Upcoming Programs and
Ministries
Even though Northaven’s musical groups are
taking a break from summer rehearsals, there will be plenty of music to inspire
and enhance our worship experience during the next several
months.
The adult choir will take off the
final three weeks of June, but Valinda has wonderful musical offerings in the
works during that time.
John Thornburg,
bringing to Northaven his "Ministry of Congregational Song", kicks off our
summer music in worship events with the service on Sunday, June 10. He will lead
us in a service entitled, "Singing With Our Whole Being". The focus will be on
music across the centuries, across the styles, and across the globe!
Then, during July and August,
Northaven’s Summer Singers will tune up. If you’re interested in
commitment lite, i.e., no Wednesday rehearsals, you can show up at 10:30 on
Sunday morning and learn a quick anthem for the service that day. Who knows, you
might enjoy the company and choral endeavors so much, you could opt to continue
in the fall. Either way, you’re most welcome this
summer.
Here are a few musical highlights
to watch for:
June 10 John Thornburg will lead
