Four Northaveners to run for Public Office
Three candidates for State District Judge,
and one candidate for State Representative
The filing deadline for public office in the State
of Texas was last week, and four Northaveners have filed to run in the upcoming
March 7th primary
elections.
Judge Dennise
Garcia (Democrat) has filed for re-election to
303rd State District (Family) Court. As you may remember, Judge Garcia was
elected to this office in November of 2004. She has no primary opponent, but
does have an opponent in the general election in
November.
Bruce
Priddy (Democrat) has filed for the 116th State
District (Civil) Court. He faces no primary opponent, but does have an opponent
in the Fall general
election.
Dawn
Estes (Republican) has filed for the 192nd State
District (Civil) Court. She faces also faces no primary opposition, but will
have an opponent in the Fall general
election.
Phillip
Shinoda (Democrat) has filed for the office of
State Representative, District 114. Phillip is also unopposed in the primary
election, but will have an opponent in the November general
election.
We are proud that so many
Northaveners have chosen to be involved in public service through the seeking of
public office. Give the size of our congregation, it's an extraordinary thing to
have this many people seeking to serve the public good through elected
office.
We wish them all success and good
luck during the campaign season.
