Judge Barefoot Sanders
2006 Martin Luther King Jr. Justice Award
Recipient
Last week, Northavener Barefoot Sanders was honored
by the Dallas Community as the "2006 Martin Luther King Jr. Justice Award"
recipient. The award is given each year by a consortium of Dallas community
groups to a person whose career in public service has exemplified Dr. King's
values, and has worked for justice and equality for
all.
Judge Sanders was honored by a large luncheon at the Dallas Belo Mansion, attended by many leaders of the Dallas community, as well as his entire extended family. Judge Sanders was also featured in an extended write-up in the Dallas Morning News that coincided with the event.
We congratulate Judge Sanders on this award, and on his continued work on behalf of the Dallas community. We can think of no one more deserving of this award, and are proud that he is a longtime member of our Northaven family.
