Richard Newton

The Staff Parish Relations Committee is pleased to announce the hiring of Richard Newton as Northaven's new Youth Director. Richard comes to us as a graduate of T.C.U, and will be an entering student at Perkins School of Theology this Fall. Richard hails from the Houston area, and has experience in youth ministry leadership at both FUMC Houston, and Sugarland UMC, serving as youth interns in both of those churches. Since graduation from TCU, Richard has been serving as the part-time "supply" pastor of Mt. Enterprise UMC in East Texas.

Richard's double-major at T.C.U. was Religion and Anthropology. He is proficient in both Biblical Greek and Spanish. In his own church experience, Richard has been on mission trips to at least eight foreign countries. He enters Perkins with the career goal of being ordained as an elder in the United Methodist Church. He and his fiancee, Sarah, are to be married this coming August.

Richard will finish his work at Mt. Enterprise in early June, and then move to Dallas. His first responsibility with us will be to attend the "C2K" mission with our junior high kids. His first full Sunday with us will be June 25th.
