The Northaven Bicentennial Methodist Heritage Banners
These unique images illustrate a timeline of selected historic events in the life of John Wesley and the evolution of Methodism. The banners were designed and created by a group of banner artists currently known as "Northaven Theological Threads." The late Albert C. Outler, of Perkins School of Theology, wrote the accompanying text.
Originally presented as part of the first Northaven Arts Festival in 1984 commemorating the 200th Anniversary of American Methodism. the banners have been shown at General Conference and used locally in new member orientations, confirmation classes, and other group studies of Methodist history.
