Groundbreaking for Northaven's New Building: September 12, 11am

Sunday will be an historic day in the life of Northaven
Church, as we celebrate the groundbreaking for our new church building.
Our groundbreaking will take place on this day as a part of our morning
worship. The Worship Commission has created a wonderful outline for this
service.

BRING A SHOVEL WITH YOU TO PARTICIPATE,
AND BE SURE TO WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES!

After prayers, litanies of remembrance, and other acts of worship in the
temporary sanctuary, we will process outside to the worksite. We'll
participate in a time of prayer and liturgy, and then be invited to a
time when we all turn the earth together. Everyone who attends that day
is invited to turn the earth. Therefore, you are encouraged to bring a
shovel to worship that morning, for use in the ceremony.

Feast of Beginnings and Dessert Contest in the Evening!

Our Feast of Beginnings on Sunday, September 12, will truly be a part of
a new beginning, as we celebrate the groundbreaking of our new sanctuary
and education building in the morning worship, followed by the evening
Feast at 5 p.m.

The featured speaker for the evening event will be Tom Locke, President
of Texas Methodist Foundation. He is a lifelong Methodist who considers church
outreach a special part of his life. Cate Locke, his daughter, is a
member of Northaven and attends Candler Theological School in Atlanta.

Childcare is provided for infants through 3rd grade. Reserve your spot
for childcare when you sign up for the Feast.

Don't miss your opportunity to share in our vision for Northaven with
food, song, and word, but MOST OF ALL participate in our first ever
DESSERT CONTEST.

Sign up before or after church through September 12 to make a luscious
entry to share. Judges for the event will be Bill Beauchamp, Jeanne
Delphenis, Bill Johnson, and Laurelle Moffett.
