  • Pre-School-ages 2-4 in room 135

  • Kindergarten-1st grade in room 144

Nursery care is provided for infants to 3 years during Sunday School and to 5 years of age during worship. We encourage children of all ages to be present in worship! Their presence in worship is valued and important for them and everyone in attendance. Worship activity bags are located upstairs outside the balcony sanctuary entrance across from the Library.

If you have any questions about any of the children’s groups, events or activities listed below or questions about our program, please contact the Children’s Ministry Committee.

Confirmation

confirmation.jpg

Confirmation is a time of intentional preparation, it gives teens and tweens the opportunity to reflect on the most basic tenants of our faith and gives them a safe environment to ask questions and grapple with the divine truths and mysteries proclaimed by the church of Jesus Christ. Confirmation helps youth to investigate the depths of their faith and helps them begin to understand what it means to become a follower of Jesus Christ.

During this time young persons “make firm” what has gone before: God’s prevenient grace, baptism (if they haven’t been baptized they can be during this process), the teaching and witness of parents and other persons of faith, the teachings and life together in the church, etc. Youth are invited to claim for themselves the name Christian and the name United Methodist. We believe that Confirmation is a significant step in the journey of faith.

Confirmation in the United Methodist Church is the process by which children make the decision to respond to God’s grace in their lives with an intentional commitment to the church. At the end of Confirmation, students will have the option of joining the church as full members. Joining the church is not the purpose of the class, nor a requirement for participation. Acolyte Program

Children are an important part of worship and help in the leadership of worship by being an Acolyte. Acolyte training occurs in early Fall in the 3rd-5th Grade Sunday School Class and is offered as needed on an individual basis. Contact the Stephanie Rhoades for more information.

Children In Worship

Our youngest visitors are welcome at worship, and each Sunday we have a special "Children's Time" just for the kids. But, should children become more of a burden than a joy, we also provide a professionally staffed nursery. There are books and soft toys for children to use during the worship service, available on the table in the upper Gallery of the sanctuary, just inside the door near the library.

We have a professionally staffed nursery care for infants and toddlers during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday school hour and the 11:00 a.m. Worship service.

For your convenience, the service is broadcast from speakers in the atrium and hallways.
