Advent is a period of preparing for the coming of Christ, a time of anticipating the reign of God in our lives and in all the world. There is a sense of expectancy and joyful longing, of contemplation and preparation. The journey through Advent begins in the darkness of human suffering and longing for redemption and moves steadily toward the light of Christ. Each Sunday, we will explore the ways in which the coming of Christ fulfills the hopes and needs of God’s people.
Our them for our Advent Worship Series comes from a hymn by Bernadette Farrell entitled, “Christ Be Our Light.”
