Susan De Kam
Susan De Kam
Dr. Susan De Kam joined our staff as Organist, at the beginning of June, 2016. Susan has been on staff at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Dallas since 2007.
Prior to coming to Dallas, Susan served churches in Michigan while earning her Master’s degree at the University of Michigan. She earned her DMA in Organ performance in 2011, also from the University of Michigan.
During the past eight years she has won prizes in Organ Competitions in the U.S. and Europe and has been a featured performer on “Pipedreams.”
In addition to her accomplishments in organ, she is also a talented pianist, accompanist and harpsichordist.
Our talented organist, Susan De Kam, was accepted to the University of Southern California (USC) Thornton Screen Scoring program and will be taking a sabbatical from August, 2017 through May, 2018. While we will miss her, she will be back periodically.
While Susan is away working on her degree, Lisa Anderson will be our interim organist. Lisa is an accomplished pianist and accompanist. She recently served as accompanist for the youth choir at FUMC Richardson and service organist for the Saturday service at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Richardson. Lisa is married to Chris Anderson, Associate Professor of the Sacred Music program at Perkins School of Theology.
